About the Event

Happiness Shines Brighter… When We’re Together!

The Calgary Burn Survivors Community Picnic is a heartfelt event organized by CBSC to bring together burn survivors, their families, friends, healthcare professionals, firefighters, and anyone affected by burn trauma for a day of connection, support, and fun.

Taking place at the beautiful Calgary Shriners Centre & Lake on Saturday, September 13, 2025, this year’s theme — “Happiness Shines Brighter… When We’re Together” — celebrates the joy and strength that comes from being part of a caring, resilient community.

This year’s picnic will feature a variety of engaging activities designed to uplift and connect, including:

🐐 Petting Zoo (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM only)

🛶 Lake Fun & Kayaking (Bring your own kayak or floaty)

🎲 Games  (All-day fun for all ages)

🧘 Stretch Lab Wellness Sessions (Drop-in style throughout the event)

🍔 Barbecue Lunch (Classic picnic eats served up fresh)

🤝 Peer Support Opportunities (Connect with others who understand)

🚒 Calgary Firefighter Trucks on Site

In the spirit of celebration, everyone is encouraged to wear their most colorful outfits as we come together to honor the beauty of life, healing, and community. Let your colors shine as bright as your heart!

Whether you’re coming to unwind by the lake, connect with others, or simply enjoy a joyful afternoon surrounded by people who care, this event is all about creating a safe, welcoming, and uplifting space for everyone.

🧡 Join us on Saturday, September 13th, for a day that shines with happiness, healing, and hope — because when we’re together, everything feels a little brighter.

This event is proudly funded by the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society,

with facility space generously donated by the Calgary Shriners.

We are deeply grateful for their continued support of our community.
